5. oreiv.sce oreiv very hard
BEASTS
------
Looks like you didn't destroy all those nasty creatures in one of the
previous scenarios that came with the game. I know your previous victory
conditions didn't say you had to kill 100% but you should have shown some
initiative and done so......anyway they're back again. You're being
sent back to Milokarr in the Toascella system to wipe them out this time.
Remember to read the data pack when you exit the exit square. It gives
you the location (approximate) of a tunnel breach used by the creatures.
BOARD
-----
Several of your fellow FW (Federated Worlds) Special Forces officers and a
booster scientist have been captured by the UDP and are being transported
to an unknown location on a Hideyoshi Battle Cruiser. We have disabled the
vessel and you have ONLY 30 minuites to rescue the prisoners before their
distress signal is picked up. When 30 minuites are up we're leaving
whether you're back or not!
HOSTAGES
--------
The local planetary government on Rouvchorra in the Toascella system has
called us in to rescue several planetary officals that have been
kidnapped by a local terrorist group. We suspect UDP envolvement. You
are to rescue the hostages and eliminate the terrorist scum.
OBJECTIVE
---------
The FW Special Forces has located the mastermind behind the UDP Terror
Troop attack on the Ivilose Starport some years back - General Thai.
The Federated Worlds still wants this man VERY bad. Thai is being held in
UDP protective custody in a heavily guarded facility on the planet Stowe.
Your orders are to capture General Thai so he may be returned to stand
trial for his crimes against humanity. You should also try to locate any
computer data packs detailing and linking him with that operation. You
will be dropped northeast of the compound where he is being held on the
far side of the river.
This scenario is REALLY TOUGH. Even though I wrote it and know where
everything is I've only won it once, and even then I had to use a
saved game and backtrack several times.
You will need to ferry your men accross the river. You don't have enough
gravbelts so you (squad leader) and several of the marauder marines need
to be used to carry several garvbelts back accross the river.
The FW has a spy in the facility that you also need to look out for.
ORE IV
------
A famous UDP scientist has been able to synthesize ORE IV from ordinary
rock. This would give the UDP a dangerous advantage over the FW. You are
being dropped into a remote region of Baliolsol where we belive the UDP
has set up a test processing plant. Your orders are to retrieve any
formula data packs, the scientist(s) who developed it, and destroy all
UPD personell at the facility.
You may be wondering where alot of the terminology used in the various
scenario briefings comes from - it comes from the epic space adventure/
role playing/tatical/sci-fi game Universe II also by Omnitrend software.
If you haven't played it you should buy a copy - you won't be sorry!
